I want to write about one of the deadly behaviors Sloth. So many of us are not aware and go on our day being on autopilot. This is the perfect way the sloth enters your life and without being aware you start feeding this little monster through your decisions, actions & behaviors.
One of the biblical definition of sloth– not to do things that one should do, laziness or lack of work.
Here are some definitions of laziness, procrastination & excuses:
•Laziness: The quality of being unwilling.
•Procrastination: The action of delaying or postponing something.
•Excuses: Attempt to lessen the blame, seek to defend or justify.
How I was given into becoming a sloth in my life by never utilizing my own talents and abilities. So many times my excuses was my answer to justify why I am not applying myself. I was becoming the Queen of Excuses that sounded like Reasons!
When my day is on autopilot I really was not aware of my actions & behaviors. Sometimes not even being aware of my actions as I made decisions to not want to or just not do my part. I was giving into being a sloth in my life. Because of that unknowing I was feeding a little monster sloth that will hold me back until I became that monster in my life.
Getting fed-up with my goals not being accomplished and fed-up with seeing myself be lazy. I finally became aware that my actions & behaviors can be for the better or for the worst. It was a choice I can make.
Waiting for an opportunity that never came I learned I must make my own opportunities for my dreams to come to life. Then I decided I will never achieve my goals if I don’t start to take action & apply myself to get those results. So, I started applying myself and saw the results!
Becoming aware that you have the ability to perform at your best or worst. This helps you be aware of your possibilities to achieve your goals.
Take these steps in your life to achieve your goal:
•Become Aware of your good & bad habits.
•Strengthen your good habits daily (have your good habits become stronger than your bad habits)
•Do not give into time as an excuse. (Even if it is just one thing each day)
•Give yourself permission. (Only you are holding yourself back). YOU CAN DO THIS!
•Forgive yourself & let go of past decisions that were mistakes. (Your learning curve)
*Remember your decision is to do or not to do.*
