When was the last time you took some time out to just have some special moments with yourself, or with your loved one’s, or with friends you love being around?
Is your life going crazy and you are feeling so out of control? Or is this year’s new lifestyle changes seem to continue to change and not stop!
I totally understand how you feel. I am a workaholic thinking that my hard work was helping but it took me away from those special moments that didn’t take much to make by the minute. What help me realize?
I will share with you my story and some tips that may help you to take a minute out to have those special moments.
I was working in the food industry as a store manager working 60 hours a week. While on my break I just took a moment to just breath out my stress from work and sit in my chair just taking in my surroundings. I smile at the little girl eating her ice cream, I saw people just enjoying talking to each other while they ate, I saw another mother having trouble with her child trying to get them from buying a toy.
As I sat there seeing the sun come through the skylight and seeing the lights of all the different shops promoting all there new stuff. I notice a stillness in the air. How I felt even with all these people around talking and going toward which shop to buy from, I still felt like I was the only one in the room.
I took those few minutes on my break just to realize how I can make a difference in my life to make those special moments with my loved ones. Even with the challenges I face sometimes having to cover someone shift, go travel to a conference or work 18 hours days to open a new store. I still remember that feeling the stillness in the air. From that day I made a decision to take a minute out and to remember start with a minute to make a special moment into a life long memory.
How can you make this happen? Here are some tips that can help you enjoy your life moments:
1) Just start! Yes it is that simple. Take a seat and put a timer on for 1 minute.
2) Relax, Don’t fidget, don’t look at the time, don’t get frustrated and don’t ask is this minute not over! Allow yourself to seat and enjoy the moment.
3) Times up! That was your minute.
How do you feel? What did you come to realize about yourself and your surroundings?
Believe me even having my best intentions sometimes excuses gets the best of me. Try your best to be in the moment. Excuses can make you miss the best moments in life.
