Getting Out & Understanding

Getting out of the ghetto help me see what other lifestyles are out in this world. Just missing my family and friends made me want to go back. Even though I was out of the ghetto I stilled yearn to go back to the ghetto. So I was determined to get a job and save money to live on my own, move back to the home I was raised in, even if it was the ghetto, it still was home.

Going back to the ghetto help me see what the real reality of living in the ghetto was like for my family.  Why they financially struggled and what kind of mindset/atmosphere it was like being in the ghetto.  How everyday you needed to be ready for anything from your house/car to be broken into, or hearing gun shots a few blocks away while playing outside in the street.

Everyday it felt like a new adventure always asking the question, “How will my day be like?”

I always believe in understanding the whole story from other people’s perspective, experiences and even mistakes in life.  I always knew there was a mind, body, & soul connection to all our lives.  I understood this at a very young age when I started questioning my own existence when I was 13 years old.

How did the world work?  I always knew the ghetto was just a part of the world not my whole world.  The ghetto shown me what real struggles can be like from your mindset to your daily actions in life.

Even though I have not lived in the ghetto for some time. It is true the ghetto never leaves you. When mama bear gets mad, WATCH OUT! (Lol)

All my story is, that no matter where you came from, your world you grew up in has connections that started your path in knowing oneself. No matter how dysfunctional it is. When you don’t know that your life is dysfunctional you seriously play out that dysfunction in your everyday life even your work life.

This makes me laugh because even though my atmosphere changed my internal thinking didn’t. I still acted out my defensive behavior, my victim mindset, and my survival attitude. Learning to see that I can really let go of what habits I picked up on in my younger years and understand how those habits strengthen my behaviors. My life experience gave me the courage to know my past is a way to learn and understand more about how to improve oneself. Learn from mistakes not just hold onto mistakes to hold myself back. Even growing up in the ghetto or working in the food industry I would see myself as unworthy but once I realize I am helping a business grow to help the economy so I was putting value in the society. There should be no reason what kind of job your working in, this job help me understand how money is a tool to help your situation get better.

I love learning anything that can help me grow. I always suggest to take the chance to seek new adventures in life that can show you a new world to connect to. Learning more & more about yourself can bring a whole new understanding of oneself. Never give up! No matter your situation there are always solutions.

I was so thankful I was able to see the difference physically, mentally and emotionally. To have a full understanding what it meant to get out of your situation and understand the whole story to your experiences/memories.

My goal is for this to inspire you, to challenge you to seek and understand what areas in your life you can help improve physically, mentally, and emotionally.
